Lockhart was also a part of numerous shows of Lassie. Dora in Jory in 1973 was her debut film. She was 18 when she portrayed the daughter of Joan Crawford in 1972 television series The Sixth Sense. Joan was in the episode for her last time. Many believe that Anne did not want to play Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's Halloween in 1978. Jaime Lee Curtis was chosen to play the role. Carpenter claims that Anne rejected his proposal to play Laurie Strode. Anne doesn't recall ever contact from John Carpenter nor being offered the job. Maybe one of her agents turned down the job on her behalf, without ever informing her. Glen Larson sent her an early draft of a script to play the role of a character on 1978's TV program Battlestar Galactica. The character wasn't strong enough to warrant her acceptance of the part. Later Glen created a brand new character exclusively for her featuring an even stronger character called Sheba. She was able to accept the Living Legend's script after having read the first 25 pages. The film ran for one season. The show was cancelled after one season. Joyride (1977) which was a film that she co-starred in and acted in with Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith, Robert Carradine.
